Grinding on a Benzinger lathe
Grinding is a well-known metal-cutting manufacturing process for producing particular surfaces and surface finishes.
Grinding can be integrated into the manufacturing process of a Benzinger CNC grinding lathe.
The combination of hard turning and subsequent grinding is also becoming increasingly important, especially when surfaces must have a typical grinding pattern, due to the way they function.

Grinding a sealing bush
- Internal grinding with CBN pin produces the desired cross structure of the sealing surface.
- The cyclic dressing is performed with a diamond dressing roll arranged around the main spindle.
- The upstream process during hard turning ensures minimum stock allowance and thus the shortest possible cycle times during grinding.

Sealing bush grinding
- The grinding of the two sealing surfaces is carried out with a corundum wheel that has been specifically designed for this finishing process.
- This is dressed with a diamond tile.
- The prior hard turning results in a minimum allowance, which ensures shorter cycle times during grinding.
Grinding in process on a DOLittle grinding lathe
Combination of a hard turning and fine grinding machine. Hardened workpieces can thus be completely machined on only one grinding machine.
